Medical Testing

Diagnostic TestingEmpowering you to be healthy is a tall order that requires us to help you understand your body and give you the resources to control your health. First and foremost, it also demands that we first correctly diagnose the root of your ailments. These tests include labs, ultrasounds, BIM assessment and nerve conduction.

These tests are central to all our specialties. In fact, by offering so many various types of diagnostic testing under one roof, we save you time and money. Gone are the days of travelling from clinic to clinic to achieve unsatisfactory results with your condition. Welcome to Pareja Medical Center!

Labs

We offer the most extensive lab testing available anywhere. What we mean is that we gather specimens here. Some specimens we process here; others we send off. All the results are sent back to our office. You, then, are contacted by one of our staff when the results are delivered, at which point you will be scheduled to visit with your attending physician to discuss the results. The information gathered from the lab testing will help us to develop your individual health treatment plan.

Ultrasound

A certified sonographer is on full-time staff. Currently, as it pertains to pre-natal ultrasounds, we only offer a gender determination scan. This particular scan only determines the sex of the baby and nothing else. Veins, arteries, extremities and other organs can be examined by order of the attending doctor.

Bio-Electrical Impedance Measurement (BIM Assessment)

Similar to EKG and EEG devices, a BIM assessment measures the electrical flow between different points in your body. This is a non-invasive test that checks your body’s “circuitry”. It is like when you take your car in for a 120-point inspection. Such a test checks the internal connections to grade performance and warn of any actual or potential damage. The different tests that we run help us more precisely determine the modalities and therapies we should implement on each patient.

Nerve Conduction

Nerves are the cables that allow “communication” between the brain and the rest of the body. A nerve conduction velocity test (NCV) is an electrical test that is used to discover nerve damage. The NCV simply tests the speed of electrical impulses between nerves. The speeds are recorded and printed up on a report. Low speeds usually indicate an injured nerve (arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, burns, neuropathy, numbness, etc.). Nerve injuries often go undetected in people with pain. Nerve damage can often lead to muscular dysfunction, and thus can be done in conjunction with a similar test used to determine muscular injury.
